Fancy hot dogs – bratwursts in part baked rolls

I can’t claim any credit for the originality of this recipe. Zurich has a great free magazine every week called Friday issued by the 20 Minuten newspaper. There was a World Cup snack recipe for hot dogs cooked in part bake rolls with salsa, sour cream and jalapenos. I had most of those ingredients and decided to Gemanise it with some bratwursts instead of terrible hot dog sausages. I whipped up a dijonaise and some fried onions to go with the cooked bratwursts, cut open the uncooked part back rolls and put everything assembled into the oven to bake. The results were delicious with some rosemary potato wedges and salad. Such a colourful dinner. You really could add any variation, cheese would make a great addition, but I think a chilli dog would turn into a sloppy mess!
